What is video production? +
Video production is a series of steps taken to complete a video — from pre-production planning through to final delivery. As a full-service video production company, Hen's Bread handles everything: shooting, editing, color grading, sound mix, and delivery. You bring your vision. We handle the rest.
How do we start the video production process? +
Once we agree on the scope of your project, we ask that production costs are paid as a deposit. Post-production (editing) is paid after you receive your finished content. We start with a free 20-minute discovery call — book one at hensbreadproductions.com/contact-us or call (512) 893-2709.
What is your post-production rate? +
We charge $500 per finished minute. A finished minute includes mix/master audio, color correction, light animations, transitions, and effective storytelling. If a request to further edit goes beyond the original project scope, we communicate additional billable hours with you before starting any extra work.
Do you accept Net-30 payment schedules? +
Yes, but we add a 20% convenience charge to the total service for Net-30 terms. Standard payment is 50% deposit upfront with the remainder due at or before delivery.
How long does it take to receive my final video? +
It depends on the scope of the project, but most projects are completed within a 15 business day window from the final edit approval. Need it faster? Expedited editing is available for a rush fee — let us know your deadline upfront and we'll work around it.
How do you deliver my project files? +
Final videos are delivered via Vimeo — ready to publish the moment they land in your inbox. For raw footage and project files, we use WeTransfer. For large files, plug directly into ethernet and make sure your computer doesn't enter sleep mode. If you contact us more than 60 days after project delivery to retrieve files, a hard drive service fee applies.
What equipment do you shoot with? +
We shoot with Sony FX9, FX6, A7SIII and the DJI Ronin 4D 6K cinema camera. For drone, we use the DJI Mavic 3 (FAA Part 107 certified). Our Camera Van package also includes three-point lighting, teleprompter, gimbal, slider, and boom + lav audio. Visit our equipment page for the full list.
What editing software do you use? +
Jacob edits on Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion. Our team also works in DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro for projects that require them. We are Apple-certified professionals. Color grading is done in DaVinci Resolve for the highest quality grade.
What video production service do you specialize in? +
Our team specializes in multi-camera productions, live streaming, corporate video, event coverage, and fast in-house editing. We also offer FAA-certified drone videography, event photography, and post-production only services. See our full services page.
What separates Hen's Bread from other companies? +
We're family-owned and personally operated by Jacob Perkins. When you call, Jacob picks up. When you're on set, Jacob is there. We've built a process that's easy for clients to understand and navigate — transparent pricing, clear proposals, and no surprise charges. Most of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
Do you have a cancellation policy? +
We can reschedule at no additional cost. If there is an outright cancellation within a 7-day window, 50% of the deposit is kept. Cancellations cost us money — contracted staff, lost bookings — and this policy protects the crew that was reserved for your date.
Do you charge travel fees? +
No travel fees for projects within the Austin metro area — including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Lakeway, and Buda. For projects outside Central Texas (flights, hotel, per diem), travel is quoted separately and added to your proposal before you approve anything.

New Modern Standard, Creating Name Recognition – Hen’s Bread Podcast

Hen's Bread Podcast

Hi, I am excited to announce the Hen’s Bread Podcast, a laid back, business focused, weekly podcast. As a video production company in Austin, TX, we work with a lot of cool people and we get to know them really well. When I do video projects with clients I like to get to know them. By asking how they started, and understanding where they want to be. I’ve come to find I get to develop a friendship with nearly all our previous clients.

Creating Name Recognition

What I’d like to accomplish with this podcast is create a fireside chat amongst our guests so you as a listener can hear amazing entrepreneur stories. I want our guests to tell people “I was on the Hen’s Bread Podcast” so now more people know of Hen’s Bread. I also want videographers to hear how their skills positively impacts businesses and local leaders. Please consider subscribing, rating, and sharing. This idea started as this would be fun to do and I want to keep it that way with 20-35 minute podcast episodes and casual conversations.

What to Expect

Although I am a local business leader I talk to everyone like I would to my family and friends. I do curse on the podcast. I will be trying to emulate something I can share with my grandma. I am not perfect, but I think if you can stomach the rolling conversations the listener will be able to pick out gems. Our current list of episodes out is a small taste of what’s to come. We already have 3 podcast recorded on top of the 2 we have released and each conversation they get better and better. Check below of where to find the podcast.

How Can I be on the podcast?

If you are wondering to yourself how come I haven’t been asked to be on the podcast? It’s probably because the podcast is still developing. There are main pillars we are trying to establish. Right now the podcast guests are going to be our clients and friends, but that doesn’t mean something won’t change. If interested in being on the podcast please contact us. Thank you!
